We are a group of people from all walks of life who love singing together. There are four voice groups in our choir, providing the harmony for our songs. The high notes are sung by our female Sopranos and slightly lower and also female are the Altos. Singing slightly lower notes are the Tenors who are a mixture of female and male. The very lowest voices are sung by our all male Basses.
We would love more people to COME and JOIN US in all of our voice groups! Just come along on a Wednesday evening – see below for day and times and introduce yourself to someone!
THE DUFFIELD SINGERS is
Led by professional music teacher and international tenor Dana de Waal. Dana’s wife, Anne, is our pianist and is a Musical Director and Music Teacher in her own right.
REHEARSALS are weekly on Wednesday evenings at St Margaret’s Clitherow Church on Hall Farm Road, Duffield, DE56 4FS. We arrive from 19.35 so as to get settled and begin singing at 19.45.
There are no auditions and we offer 4 free sessions to see if you like our music (and us).
We sing a variety of music – classical, folk, popular and some music specially composed for us, as well as songs for specific times of the year, such as Christmas.
Some of us can read music, others can’t. Some sing down in the depths, others high in the rafters with the rest of us somewhere in between. Some sing loudly, others quietly. You can try different voice groups to see where you fit in. There’s a place for you …
